GENE KNOCK-OUT

Gene
knock out is currently being developed by BioProtein Transgenics,
through different methods:
- interference RNA
- gene disruption by homologous recombination
BioProtein Transgenics, already obtained 98% extinction of
milk protein genes with interference RNA method while milk
proteins are commonly expressed at relatively high levels
(15 to 40 g/L). This result allows us to reasonably consider
as possible functional knock-out
through interference RNA methods.

Gene knock in as well as gene replacement are currently
being developed by the company, using homologous recombination.
